3° Sínodo Diocesano

Por medio de esta carta quiero comunicar la convocatoria al Tercer Sínodo de la Iglesia en San Juan 2024-2026, comenzando su preparación durante los próximos meses. Oportunamente realizaremos Asambleas en cada comunidad, para que la mayor cantidad posible de fieles, anclados en la Palabra y movidos por el Espíritu Santo, puedan hacer un vivo aporte que nos ayude a expresar que «Somos un pueblo que camina, anuncia y sirve».

No hay sínodo sin oración ni escucha: escuchamos al Espíritu Santo, a los hermanos, y a la realidad en la que vivimos.
Durante esta etapa que dura desde agosto a diciembre del 2024, tendremos tres objetivos: la celebración de las asambleas, la consulta amplia y la elección de los delegados sinodales.

Una vez realizada la etapa de escucha, viene el tiempo de síntesis y de estudio. Los delegados sinodales tendrán la oportunidad de formarse por medio de la lectura y análisis de todas las conclusiones de la etapa anterior, incorporando formación en otras áreas, como la teológica. Entre enero y abril del 2025.
También se realizará una segunda ronda de asambleas, esta vez una por decanato, y otra de movimientos y pastorales. Serán el 2 de abril del 2025. Aquí participarán los delegados sinodales, y de estas asambleas surgirán las propuestas de temas para el sínodo.

El día 24 de junio harán su juramento oficial los delegados sinodales. Las sesiones del sínodo, propiamente tal, serán entre los meses de agosto y diciembre del 2025. Allí se trabajarán los documentos de estudio elaborados en razón del o los temas del sínodo. Las síntesis o propuestas serán estudiadas y consideradas por el obispo.

Analizadas las propuestas, el obispo presentará las conclusiones del sínodo, orientaciones pastorales u otros lineamientos que juzgue necesarios para la vida de la arquidiócesis. Esto será durante el primer semestre del 2026, tiempo en que se cumplirán los 100 años del 2° sínodo de San Juan.

Conociendo más al “buen pastor de Cuyo”
Nació en Buenos Aires, el 13 de marzo de 1853. Hijo de inmigrantes italianos, ingresó al seminario a los 14 años de edad. Fue ordenado sacerdote en 1883 y fue asignado a la Iglesia de la Piedad en Buenos Aires. En 1890 fue nombrado cura de la Parroquia de Santa Lucía, en el barrio porteño de Barracas, donde dedicó sus principales esfuer 20s a la catequesis de los niños de las escuelas públicas de esa zona de Buenos Aires fundó dos instituciones seculares en su parroquia: la Congregación de Hijas de Mana la Congregación de la Doctrina Cristiana
En 1892 creó el Círculo de Obreros de Barracas al Norte, que llegaría a tener 3000 asociados. En 1895 creó la orden de las Hermanas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (las «Hermanas Rosarinas»), de cuya primera escuela fue párroco y sobre la cual ejerció una especie de patronato hasta la definitiva aprobación de la orden en 1938. En 1903 fue nombrado capellán en el cuarto viaje de instrucción de la Fragata Presidente Sarmiento. En 1906 fue trasladado a la parroquia San Miguel Arcángel de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. El 30 de diciembre de 1911 fue nombrado obispo de la Diócesis de Cuyo por el papa Pio X. Su jurisdicción incluía las provincias de San Juan, Mendoza, San Luis y Neuquén. Fue consagrado en la Catedral de Buenos Aires y ocupó su sede episcopal en abril de 1912
Fue sobre todo un incansable misionero. Efectuó cinco visitas pastorales a la diócesis sin dejar de visitar hasta las más humildes y pequeñas capillas y comunidades. Organizó la vida de la diócesis: fundó el Boletín Diocesano, realizó dos Sínodos Diocesanos y cinco Visitas Ad Limina Apostolorum a la Santa Sede, dejando preparados a su muerte el tercer Sínodo y la sexta Visita Ad Límina. Creó parroquias, introdujo congregaciones religiosas: Salesianos, Bayoneses, Rosarinas. Fundó el Círculo Obrero, la JOC, la Federación de Maestros Católicos, etc.
En 1934, al cumplirse los 100 años de la creación de la Diócesis de Cuyo, San Juan fue promovida a Arquidiócesis Monseñor Orzali fue el octavo Obispo de Cuyo y el Primer Arzobispo de San Juan La Congregación de Hermanas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario y la Arquidiócesis de San Juan de Cuyo son Coactoras en la Causa de Beatificación del Siervo de Dios, que se inició en el año 1979
